Our attitude: we are for cultural profit

The Kafe Antzokias are part of a wider life project, within the context of the philosopy of Zenbat Gara Culture Association. Born from the life of the Basque language -Euskara-, it wants to grow up from the language of life (based on equality, mutual respect and freedom). With the aim to keep a balance between ideas, people and economic resources in an appropriate way, various are the areas the Association would like to develop: culture, leisure, mass media, social projects.

We pay attention to both culture and leisure. Therefore, besides its popular catering facilities, in cultural events it's a must. Concerts (from classical music to rock, throug folk, pop, jazz, reggae, world music and others), theatre, dance, child performances, conferences, video-cinema, etc. are always on. Since it was open, in addition to Basque musicians and artists, many others from all over the world have already performed at Kafe Antzokia.

But Kafe Antzokia is not only a culture and leisure meeting point. It has become a place where different social ideas and new points of view have the chance to meet. So, it's also new in its philosopy and aims, based on equality and in the way we put it into practice. And this is specially important here and now for the Basque Country (ruled by others, divided, culturally alienated... But alive and willing to be free, to live on) and for all the nations in the world as well. This is the way we're trying to build up, for us and others, a world that we want fairer and more harmonic at all levels.

Whe think that tolerance can only grow from grounds of real equality and justice and that arts as a whole is essential for this world size task. So, we are delighted to welcome you all, artists and visitors from all over the world.
